X are really condemn the india tricolour flag

the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) lost its golden tick on X (formerly Twitter) after changing its display picture to the Indian tricolour on August 12, 2023.

This was in support of the Indian government's 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign, which encourages people to display the Indian flag on their social media profiles ahead of Independence Day.

X has a new policy that requires verified accounts to change their display picture to have their verification reinstated. This is because X wants to ensure that verified accounts are authentic and that their profile pictures accurately represent them.

The BCCI has said that it is working with X to get its golden tick restored. In the meantime, the BCCI's profile picture remains the Indian tricolour.

BCCI's golden tick and X's new verification policy:

The BCCI had a blue tick on Twitter before Elon Musk acquired the company in October 2022. After the acquisition, Musk announced that he would be making changes to Twitter, including its verification policy.

As part of the new verification policy, X now gives golden ticks to official and certified companies. The BCCI was given a golden tick because it is an autonomous institution.

When a verified account changes its display picture, X automatically revokes its verification. This is because X wants to ensure that verified accounts are authentic and that their profile pictures accurately represent them.

The BCCI has said that it is working with X to get its golden tick restored. In the meantime, the BCCI's profile picture remains the Indian tricolour.
